Sri Balaji Kitchen, a new vegetarian-focused Indian restaurant, is getting ready to expand to a new location in Davidson at 11183 Davinci Dr.

The company’s second location will move into the former home of an ABC Liquor Store. Owner Manikandan Raghavan tells What Now Charlotte he hopes to open the new site in July 2023. It appears Manikandan attempted to land this restaurant in Richmond, VA, based on a website that seems incomplete. When the new restaurant opens, customers can expect plenty of delicious Indian and vegetarian options, much like Raghavan’s other restaurant, Sri Balaji Caffe, in Pineville.

“Sri Balaji Caffe was originally conceived in September 2017 when the founder, Manikandan Raghavan, realized Greater Salt Lake does not have a single pure vegetarian restaurant around,” according to the company’s website. “With over 18 years of rich experience in cooking different cuisines across India, Manikandan Raghavan has never received negative feedback to date in his career. His passion for cooking and his strong belief “serving people is serving God” encouraged him to open a pure vegetarian restaurant.”

Some items found at the owner’s original restaurant include classic Indian dishes, such as Karaikudi Masala fried rice, poori with chole, and parotaa korma. Sri Balaji Caffe also offers uthappam options, gravy bowls, chaat items, and more. The new restaurant will likely provide a cozy atmosphere, much like its other restaurant, where guests feel comfortable and can enjoy their meals while resting with family after a hard working day.
