After announcing a franchise agreement for the area a few years ago, Dave’s Hot Chicken announced its next location, coming to Greensboro at 1949 Battleground Ave.
The company’s next site will replace A Cleaner World, which is moving into a smaller space behind its current location next spring. Dave’s Hot Chicken is one of three new tenants coming to Irving Park Shops, including a CycleBar and Armine’s Blow Outs and Bubbles, according to the Triad Business Journal. Franchise owner Nick Smith III and his team plan to open the company’s fifth North Carolina location in mid-2024.
This is just one of several new locations planned for Charlotte and its surrounding areas. In 2021, the Los Angeles-based chain announced it had inked a franchise agreement with Nick and Nicole Smith and Jordan Washburn to open 12 locations in Charlotte, North Carolina, according to a press release. Before joining the brand, Smith owned and operated several prosperous franchises, including Jersey Mike’s, Moe’s, Mama Fu’s Asian House, and Monkey Joe’s. The team is looking for additional sites throughout the area that are freestanding locations, ideally with 2,000 to 2,500 square feet of endcaps and with drive-thru infrastructure.
“With the addition of Nick’s signed agreement to grow Dave’s Hot Chicken in Charlotte, we’re continuing to build momentum for the brand across throughout the southeastern United States.,” Shannon Swenson, VP of Franchise Development at Dave’s Hot Chicken, said in a press release at the time of the franchise agreement. “Nick’s vast experience in the franchising industry makes him the perfect candidate to bring this concept to Charlotte.”
