The Tonidandel-Brown Restaurant Group has been making progress on its newest restaurant concept, Leluia Hall, at 1829 Cleveland Avenue.
The restaurant will be located in a restored historic church, originally built in 1915, in Dilworth. Owners Jamie Brown and Jeff Tonidandel have been pursuing the concept for multiple years, but construction has mostly occurred in 2024.
The construction process has also included moving the historic Leeper-Wyatt Building, a brick grocery store built in 1903, to the parking lot beside the Leluia Hall building.
The steak-and-surf restaurant is expected to serve family-style dishes and steak cuts as well as cocktails and an extensive wine list.
“The menu is coming along really well,” Tonidandel said. “Everybody in our group is pitching in, and we’re having a fun time doing R&D. We have everybody working on everything, so we’re having a good time.”
Tonidandel said that they do not have an official opening date set for Leluia Hall, but they are aiming for a fall opening.
The Tonidandel-Brown Restaurant Group owns several staple restaurants in the Charlotte area, including Supperland, Haberdish, Ever Andalo, Growlers Pourhouse and Reigning Doughnuts. Leluia Hall will be the sixth concept that the group will bring to the community.
