Bird Pizzeria is completing renovations and a brand expansion at its location in Optimist Park.
The spot, located at 510 E 15th St., decided to expand to a larger space earlier this year, as What Now Charlotte previously reported.
Kerrel and Nkem Thompson opened Bird Pizzeria in Optimist Park in 2022 with an emphasis on East Coast-style pizza. The brand and space have now expanded.
The team used the new 800-square-foot space to add an indoor dining room, a bar and a larger kitchen, according to Axios Charlotte. Formerly, Bird Pizzeria operated out of a takeout window with a small kitchen.
In addition, the menu for the spot is expanding to include a limited dessert menu as well as a beverage program featuring wines and cocktails. The menu also features salads as well as pizzas.
However, the expansion will not stop there. The Thompsons plan to add a secret patio for outdoor seating, according to Axios.
For now, it is unclear when further expansions for more outdoor seating will be completed.
