Panda Express appears to be building a new quick-service location at 8940 Albemarle Road, according to permits filed with the City of Charlotte.

Plans for the site were first filed last year. The restaurant would be the fourth in the area for the brand, which currently has locations at South and Seneca, at the University of North Carolina and inside the Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

Panda Express has more than 2,000 locations across the country, with nearly 30 spots in North Carolina. It is known for its Chinese and Asian fast-casual meals. It “inspires a fresh, flavorful combination of Chinese regional cuisine and technique with bold American tastes,” according to the Panda Express website.

As of now, it is unclear when the location along Albemarle Road would open, though it appears construction is ongoing. Customers likely can expect an opening later this year.
