Romeo’s Vegan Burgers plans to close its South Boulevard location in Charlotte later this month. The owners said on social media that they will not renew the location’s lease.
Romeo’s Vegan Burgers Set to Close
The burger restaurant began its journey in 2020, with an aim to serve a 100% plant-based menu. Over its six years of operation, Romeo’s Vegan Burgers built a strong following in the community with its affordable menu and casual and relaxed atmosphere.
The South Boulevard location was established in 2021. Apart from loaded and juicy burgers, the menu also includes fries, shakes, teas, and more.
In a social media announcement, the restaurant owners, Lamont Heath and Monty ‘Tigo B’ Faulkner, shared the closure news. The post stated that Romeo’s Vegan Burgers, located at 5518 South Boulevard, Charlotte, will permanently shut down on Wednesday, October 28.
The owners thanked the community and said, “Thank you for showing up, growing with us, and making this location special.”

Reason Behind the Closure
In a previous post, the owners shared that the lease for the location is ending this month and they have made the decision to not renew it.
They added, “We fought the good fight, but sometimes in business, you have to recognize when it’s time to make a change and do what’s best for the future.”
The owners also shared a video farewell message for the community and stated, “We have gone through a lot of ups and downs these last five years, and, honestly, we’re just not willing to do it for another five years, 10 years. So you know, it’s time for us to move on to new things.”
The owners encouraged the community to visit the restaurant and enjoy their favorite vegan meal one more time before its closure. The second location of Romeo’s Vegan Burgers in Greensboro will remain open and continue to serve the community.
While the South Boulevard location is closing, the owners assured that they will return soon with a new concept for the Charlotte community.
