The Cowfish is moving forward with a revamp of its SouthPark space this coming spring. The renovations planned for the 6,000-square-foot space at 4310 Sharon Rd are expected to cost nearly $1 million and will begin on March 31, according to reporting by the Charlotte Business Journal.
The Cowfish was originally expected to undergo renovations last September, but delays pushed the planned redo back to this spring.
“For the last few years, we knew it was time to remodel to be relevant and stay current,” co-owner Alan Springate told What Now Charlotte in a previous interview. “When I walk in the unit today, I know it’s beyond time to bring the look up for the guests and for the restaurant itself.”
The renovation is expected to bring a more modern feel to the space. The Business Journal reports plans for a neutral color palette, textures, dark wood tables, lower ceilings and lighting changes.
Springate and Marcus Hall opened The Cowfish in SouthPark in 2010, featuring a unique menu of sushi and burger options, as well as “burgushi,” which combines burgers and sushi into a single meal. Since then, The Cowfish has expanded to locations in Raleigh and Orlando, Fla.
The restaurant is expected to remain open during the revamp.
