A company spokesperson with Panda Express shared that the company has a second location coming to Albemarle Road, in addition to the location at 8940 Albemarle Road recently reported by What Now Charlotte.
While an address was not provided, Panda Express was seeking zoning approval from the Mint Hill Planning Board in December for a 2,700-square-foot quick-service restaurant with a drive-thru window at 12946 Albemarle Road, according to planning board documents. The spot will be next to an Arby’s.
Documents indicate that an opening for this location could come later this year, in September or October. The company spokesperson confirmed with What Now Charlotte that a fall opening was likely for one of the locations.
The other location, which is currently in the permitting process, is project to open in 2026, shared the spokesperson.
Panda Express has more than 2,000 locations across the country, with nearly 30 spots in North Carolina and three locations in the Charlotte area. It is known for its fast-casual meals that blend Chinese, Asian and American flavors.
The spokesperson said that opening dates are still tentative depending on the progress of construction. The company plans to share more updates closer to opening.
