A local dessert shop with several locations scattered throughout the state is getting ready for an expansion.

The Cookie Monstah’s latest bakeshop will be nestled inside Jordan’s Furniture in Reading, taking over the space that’s currently home to Richardson’s Ice Cream at 50 Walkers Brook Dr. Owner Melissa ‘Missy’ Gale told What Now Boston that construction is scheduled to kick off this week.

The crumbly cookie haven currently delights patrons with six bakeshops in North Andover, Beverly, Burlington, Swampscott, Danvers, and Needham, as well as another currently in the works in Newtonville. On top of that, The Cookie Monstah boasts a fleet of six traveling trucks, available to rent for parties and events.

In addition to the classic and creative cookie flavors like Chocolate Chunk and Cinnabon, the bakeshop offers ‘Cookie Quake’ ice cream shakes and their signature ice cream cookie sandwiches, each made to order with Richardson’s cow-to-cone farm fresh ice cream.

Be sure to follow The Cookie Monstah on Facebook and Instagram for updates on the forthcoming Reading bakeshop.
