A new boutique fitness studio is preparing to open in the northern suburbs of Boston.

Tandem Pilates & Yoga is gearing up to debut at 620 Primrose Street in Haverhill, where mother-daughter duo Nicole Fields and Leanne Durham will bring their shared passions for yoga and Pilates together under one roof. The studio will offer a mix of group mat classes and personalized equipment-based sessions designed to accommodate a range of fitness levels and movement goals.

“Tandem was born out of a shared belief that movement is most powerful when it’s balanced and shared,” Fields and Durham told What Now Boston in a statement. “Because we are a mother-daughter team coming together to build this studio, the name Tandem felt like a natural fit for our partnership and our philosophy. What we are most looking forward to sharing with the community is that sense of connection—offering an environment where everyone from beginners to seasoned practitioners feels supported, challenged, and at home.”

The group class lineup will feature several approaches to movement, including Classical Pilates, Pilates x Strength, Tandem Flow, and Sculpt & Flow. Guests can expect everything from traditional Pilates, with an emphasis on core strength, posture, and alignment, to more dynamic workouts that blend yoga-inspired movement with resistance training.

For those interested in a more personalized experience, Tandem will also offer private and semi-private Pilates apparatus sessions using the mat, reformer, tower, and Wunda Chair. Options will include one-on-one instruction, reformer duet sessions for two, and small-group reformer trios capped at three participants, allowing guests to receive more individualized attention while still enjoying the energy of a shared workout.

A bright, fully pink interior will give the studio plenty of personality, creating a fun, vibrant space for guests to gather and connect. “Beyond offering great workouts, our goal is to build a true community where people feel connected, supported, and welcomed from the moment they step through the door,” Durham said.

Tandem is currently offering a limited number of founding memberships, with just 15 spots available. Priced at $149 per month for life (compared to the regular $169 monthly rate), the membership includes unlimited mat classes, 10% off merchandise for life, and one guest pass each month. Once all 15 spots are filled, the membership will return to its regular price.

Before opening its doors, Tandem has several events planned for the community, including a community Pilates class on November 1, The Beauty Boost Boston’s Taste of Yoga event on November 15, and a Sip & Sculpt Brunch on November 22.

Tandem Pilates & Yoga is targeting a December 1, 2026 grand opening, pending the completion of final renovations and other preparations. In the meantime, those interested in classes, memberships, and upcoming events can follow @tandem.better.together on Instagram for the latest updates.
