Tropical Smoothie Cafe is bringing its signature smoothies and fresh, fast-casual fare to the western suburbs of Boston.
The national smoothie franchise is opening a new location at 234 Washington Street (Route 85) in Hudson‘s RK Washington Square, according to a recent social media update from real estate development firm RK Centers. The café will be operated by Twin Coast Enterprises, Inc., a regional franchise group with multiple Wendy’s and Tropical Smoothie Cafe locations throughout the Northeast.
“As proud owners of multiple Tropical Smoothie Cafe and Wendy’s franchises, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional service and quality to our customers,” the Twin Coast Enterprises website states. “Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite on the go or looking to cater an event, our friendly team is here to ensure your visit is nothing short of exceptional.”
Christopher Baker, president at Twin Coast Enterprises, briefly confirmed the Hudson expansion with What Now Boston, though he has not yet shared additional details about the new location. Business filings indicate that the 3,000-square-foot space is undergoing a full interior fit-out, with construction costs totaling an estimated $110,000.
Founded in Destin, Florida, Tropical Smoothie Cafe has grown into a nationwide franchise with more than 1,700 locations across the country. The brand currently operates over 30 Massachusetts outposts, including two cafés in Methuen and Haverhill run by Twin Coast Enterprises.
At the new café, guests can expect a variety of signature smoothies and blended beverages, including seasonal options like the Fanta Phanton limited-edition Halloween smoothie and the Salted Caramel Javablender. The menu also features smoothie bowls, wraps, quesadillas, flatbreads, salads, and breakfast options, with highlights such as the Caribbean Jerk Chicken Wrap, Chicken Bacon Ranch Flatbread, Supergreen Caesar Salad, and Chia Oatmeal Bowl.
Although an official grand opening date has not yet been announced, RK Centers indicated in a social media comment that the new Tropical Smoothie Cafe is on track to open “before the holidays.” What Now Boston will share additional details as they become available.
