A growing halal restaurant chain is bringing its burgers, rice platters, and more to Framingham.

Halal Eatz is planning to open its third location at 341 Cochituate Road in the Route 30 Mall, next to NY Bagel Factory. The restaurant, which currently operates locations in Burlington and Revere, received approval from Framingham’s Board of License Commissioners this week to open with hours extending until 2 a.m. daily.

Founded in 2021, Halal Eatz serves a 100% halal menu certified by Halal Monitoring Services (HMS). Diners can choose from a variety of “gourmet” burgers made with 5.3-ounce patties—including the Double Cheeseburger, Crispy Chicken Burger, Nashville Hot Chicken Burger, and Veggie Burger—as well as traditional rice platters, gyros, chicken wings, tenders, and sweet treats like milkshakes and baklava.

“At Halal Eatz, we strive to offer you the highest quality of halal meat, in a variety of dishes,” reads the company website. “From the griddle to even our vegetarian options, we never compromise on quality… “Our mission is to deliver quality food made with quality ingredients to our customers, providing exemplary service and leaving you with a smile after every meal with us.”

According to a Facebook post from Framingham Unfiltered, the Framingham location is expected to become Halal Eatz’s larger flagship restaurant, as the business has expanded its footprint by incorporating part of the former Boston Market space. The restaurant will feature an expanded menu and specialty drinks, with 55 seats and a maximum occupancy of 100.

The applicants initially requested permission to operate from 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. daily, citing plans to offer a special suhoor menu during Ramadan. Suhoor is the pre-dawn meal eaten before the day’s fast begins, and the extended hours would allow the restaurant to serve customers observing the holy month.

Representatives also pointed to the potential for additional late-night demand, noting that the owners anticipated drawing customers from Worcester, Providence, and other nearby communities. One representative mentioned that the Revere location had been packed on many nights during Ramadan, suggesting that the Framingham restaurant could see similar interest in its early-morning offerings.

Commissioners, however, questioned whether a special schedule intended to accommodate Ramadan warranted a 3 a.m. closing time throughout the year. One commissioner proposed limiting the restaurant’s regular hours to 2 a.m., noting that Ramadan lasts only about a month and that a year-round extension would go beyond that seasonal need.

The board ultimately settled on a 2 a.m. closing time, approving the food-service license in a 4–0 vote contingent on meeting outstanding tax, fee, departmental, and documentation requirements.

The possibility of later hours during Ramadan remains open. Commissioners advised the applicants to submit a request in late December 2026 or early January 2027 if they wish to pursue a temporary 3 a.m. closing time for the observance, as no seasonal extension was approved during the hearing.

An official opening date for Halal Eatz Framingham has not yet been announced. What Now Boston has reached out to the restaurant’s owners for additional details about the upcoming location and will share updates as they become available.
