A South Asian restaurant located in Weymouth will soon open a second site in Braintree.

Turmeric House is set to launch its new location inside the South Shore Plaza food court at 250 Granite St.

This marks a significant milestone for co-owner and executive chef Ananda “Andy” Pokhrel, who told What Now Boston that he and his partners Mahesh Shahi, Prabin Thapa, and Suzan Thapa Magar have long desired a mall location.

Since its inception in 2019, Turmeric House has been a cornerstone of the Weymouth community, delighting patrons with its diverse array of Indian and Nepali cuisine. Despite opening shortly before the pandemic, the restaurant quickly gained popularity for dishes like garlic naan, chicken tikka masala, vegetable curry, and coconut tomato soup.

Reflecting on the expansion, Pokhrel assured What Now Boston that the Braintree location will feature the same beloved menu, enhanced by new bowl and combo offerings.

“We take great pride in the culinary experience we offer, combining traditional flavors, spices, and techniques to create a journey of taste for our guests,” he said.

Anticipated to open in the coming weeks, the Braintree Turmeric House promises to deliver the same distinctive flavors of South Asia that its Weymouth counterpart has become known for.
