A new family-owned Mexican restaurant will soon open in Amesbury.
Oye Mira Restaurant is preparing to open at 100 Macy Street, Suite 5, inside Amesbury’s Carriagetown Marketplace, according to recent social media updates from the business. A company representative told What Now Boston that the restaurant is slated to open before the end of October 2026, pending final touches and inspections.
For the family behind Oye Mira, opening a restaurant has been a long-held dream rooted in their love of Mexican food, culture, and hospitality. “Our family has always loved Mexican food, flavors, and culture, and opening a restaurant has been something we’ve wanted to do for a long time,” ownership said. “Hospitality is a big part of who we are, so we wanted to create a place where people could come together, enjoy great food and drinks, and always feel welcomed and taken care of.”
That welcoming spirit will extend to a menu designed to offer “a little bit of everything,” with Mexican favorites ranging from tacos and fajitas to birria tacos and queso. The team is particularly excited about its molcajete dishes, along with steak and seafood plates. Guests can also expect fresh guacamole prepared tableside from a cart right in front of them, adding a little bit of dinner-theater fun to the meal.
Oye Mira’s extensive drink menu will feature specialty cocktails, plenty of margaritas, and margarita pitchers, along with another margarita surprise that the team is keeping under wraps for now. As the representative put it, “you’ll just have to come in and see for yourself!”
The restaurant’s atmosphere is being designed with that same sense of fun and hospitality. The owners envision Oye Mira as a lively, welcoming place where guests can stop in for a quick lunch, settle in for dinner with the family, or meet up with friends for drinks and margaritas. The team has also put considerable thought into the restaurant’s interior, incorporating decorative details throughout the space that they hope guests will notice and enjoy once the doors open.
The owners chose Amesbury because they love the area and felt the location was a natural fit for the restaurant they wanted to create. So far, they said, the community has already shown plenty of excitement and support.
Ultimately, the team hopes Oye Mira becomes the kind of neighborhood restaurant guests want to return to time and time again. “We want Oye Mira to be a place people enjoy and look forward to coming back to,” the representative said. “We’ve put a lot of care into everything from the food and drinks to the smallest details of the space, and we’re excited for people to finally experience it.”
