A longstanding Wellesley eatery is turning the page.

After more than 30 years of serving the community, Deluxe Pizza founder Emmanuel Houlis has announced the closure of his beloved pizzeria at 1 Forest St. But this isn’t the end of the story for the restaurant.

According to The Swellesley Report, Frank Santo and Tom Wynn—owners of The Local Kitchen & Drinks just next door—have purchased Deluxe Pizza and plan to reopen it under the same name. The duo, who also operate other Local locations in Waltham and Wayland, intend to preserve the shop’s essence while giving it a fresh new look.

Santo told the publication that while the menu will remain largely the same, featuring the familiar pizzas, calzones, subs, and salads, they’ll be adding breakfast sandwiches and a few new items. “We’ll deck it all out,” he said. The space itself will see renovations, including refreshed walls, ceilings, and upgraded ovens.

A recent post from Kiat Cormier in his ChewOnThis Facebook group reveals that renovations are underway. Deluxe Pizza is slated to relaunch in mid-April 2025.
