A new spot for authentic Vietnamese coffee and bánh mì is on its way to Somerville.

Pound House is preparing to open at 703 Broadway in Ball Square, according to Boston Restaurant Talk. The café will draw inspiration from Vietnam’s rich coffee culture, using ancient techniques that enhance the flavor and intensity of its brews.

Alongside its specialty coffee, Pound House will serve a variety of classic bánh mì sandwiches. Each sandwich will feature a crisp, airy baguette filled with a savory mix of meats, herbs, pickled vegetables, and signature sauces—a delicate blend of French and Vietnamese influences.

Bao Tran—who will operate the café alongside co-founders Linh Do, Tuan Nguyen, and Verac Xom—told What Now Boston that while an official opening date hasn’t been set, the team hopes to welcome guests before the end of April 2025.
