An expanding DMV chain is bringing the heat-alongside fresh fruit bowls and delicious smoothies- to Chantilly this summer. South Block, which focuses on bringing customers nutritious fast-casual options, is making moves towards opening in the Field at Commonwealth later this year, reports local media outlet FFX Now.

The new storefront, opening in a 1,600 square foot space at 14383 Newbrook Drive, will be the brand’s 16th location. Founder and CEO Amir Mostafavi  confirmed to What Now DC that the Chantilly South Block is planning to fire up its blenders this summer.

Construction has begun on the new shop, set to join the UPS Store, Chipotle, and Peet’s Coffee in the shopping center. South Block has already established a presence in Fairfax County, having opened a shop in McLean’s Chesterbrook Shopping Center in March of 2023.

South Block first opened its doors in Leesburg, in 2011. The brand, largely focused in Virginia and DC, has its eyes firmly focused on expansion, with plans to open four new shops in total before the end of 2024.
