A Chipotle is Being Built Near the Hudsonville Meijer

Hudsonville residents are about to add lots of burritos to their menu

Planning documents indicate a Chipotle is coming to Hudsonville at 4205 32nd Avenue, next to the Meijer store. The new restaurant will replace a community bank sitting on the property. Construction will begin once the existing building is demolished. The location is yet to be listed on the company’s website, and no opening timeframe is available at the moment.

Hudsonville Retail Management LLC submitted materials for site plan review and a special land use permit on behalf of Chipotle and received approval from the Hudsonville Planning Commission last December. The plans proposed a 2,436-square-foot restaurant with a pick-up window, a 220-square-foot patio for outdoor seating, and a drive-thru on the west side of the building with a maximum capacity of six cars.

Construction will also include 43 parking spaces, a pedestrian crosswalk, a side yard, and two bicycle parking spaces. Design documents also highlighted a brick veneer exterior with an awning canopy and sugar maple and tulip poplar trees for landscaping.

Chipotle currently has 57 locations in Michigan, although the nearest Chipotle to Hudsonville is in Grandville. The chain operates a few other area sites in Holland and the Grand Rapids area. The Hudsonville Chipotle is part of Chipotle’s larger expansion plan for this year, which includes more than 300 new stores.
