The AC Hotel development at Woodward Avenue and Mack Avenue is on target to open in the fourth quarter this year, with an exciting twist: the development has just added a rooftop bar to the project. This news was first seen on Crain’s Detroit.

The $49-million hotel reached its peak at 129 feet last week and is slated to open by the end of 2024. In addition to the originally planned ten floors, an additional rooftop bar has been added to the project. Located right next to Detroit’s Brush Park and Midtown neighborhoods, AC Hotel on Woodward’s design and architectural team include Detroit-based Patrick Thompson Design and Canadian firm Santec.

The Detroit AC Hotel is developed by the Roxbury Group. It is the brand’s first hotel in Southeast Michigan, responding to Detroit’s growing need for quality hotel spaces. The Roxbury Group is a Detroit-based real estate development and investment firm. Principals David Di Rita and Stacy Fox founded the company in 2005.

Di Rita told Crian’s that “if the rooftop bar doesn’t open when the hotel does, it will open by the spring.”
