The Kraken Bar and Lounge is set to reopen at a new location in the Roosevelt area at 5828 Roosevelt Way, according to recent permit filings.

A representative of The Kraken Bar and Lounge did not immediately return What Now Seattle’s request for comment.

While an official opening date has yet to be confirmed, Kraken was previously located in the University District for many years before its closure. Their new location is being called “Kraken 2.0,” according to their gofundme description, and is taking over the previous space that was once Cafe Racer.

A pirate-themed punk venue and dive bar, Kraken was considered to provide a haven for punk music lovers and those seeking a no-frills hangout spot. Some of the menu options The Kraken previously held were their smash burgers and sliders.

With its lively atmosphere, live punk rock shows, diverse beer selection, mouthwatering pub grub for affordable prices, and arcade games, they offer a unique and exhilarating experience that captures the essence of the punk culture.
