According to a recent permit filing, The Good Society Brewery and Barrel House will soon open another location at 535 W McGraw Street.

While an official opening date has yet to be confirmed, The Good Society is said to have been founded with a vision to foster a sense of community while savoring “exceptional” brews. The Good Society is said to be more than just a public house; it’s a hub of warmth, inclusion, and philanthropy.
At the heart of their mission lies the desire to create a welcoming and respectful space where friends, families, and neighbors can connect, all while relishing a pint of their beer. However, they’re not content with merely serving beer; they are committed to serving their community, including the broader community of Mother Earth. For every pint they pour, they pledge to donate a portion of the sale to a local nonprofit dedicated to making positive social or environmental impacts.
Each year, their management team collaborates with select advisory board members to identify and evaluate local nonprofits that are making significant contributions to society. After thorough consideration, they chose two organizations to support for the next 6-12 months.
Those who choose to partner with The Good Society gain visibility on their website, in their brewery, and receive semi-annual cash donations. These donations are said to not be arbitrary; they are influenced by their customers’ votes. They believe in the power of collective decision-making, and their patrons play a pivotal role in determining which causes they support.
At The Good Society, customers can elect to support a brewing industry-specific cause when closing their tab. This additional option sets out to allow beer enthusiasts to make a targeted impact within the industry they love, according to the company website.
