“We are pleased to offer for sale Wedgwood Restaurant/Retail Building at 8515 35th Ave NE, Seattle, Washington. The current tenant is a longtime popular local food, drink, and entertainment venue,” the listing goes on to state.
The neighborhood is very upset about this change. The owner is displacing the Wedgwood Alehouse which has been a huge part of the community for over 40 years or more. My family has been going there for over 30 years. I love Indian food but I will not be going to this new restaurant because the owner is crapping on our community. He should have worked something out with the Alehouse. There is plenty of room in the building to continue the Alehouse and put an Indian restaurant in the pool hall portion which is rarely used. Plus, The Wedgwood Alehouse is being forced to close right in the middle of the holidays and the longtime employees are being laid off. No one in Wedgwood wants to see The Alehouse close. It is a community gathering place which cannot be replaced.
Please Sanjay, read the room and don’t take our community spaces away.
