According to a recent permit filing, Shaoshan Impression will soon take over what was previously Peking Restaurant in Bellevue at 14150 NE 20th ST STE C.

A representative of Shaoshan Impression was not immediately available for commentary upon What Now Seattle’s request.

While an official opening date and what Shaoshan plans to offer have yet to be confirmed, according to Peking’s Facebook page, Peking Restaurant is family-owned and operated. Their last Facebook post was back in November.

According to an article written in 2018 from USA Today’s 10 Best, “Peking Chinese Restaurant, a Bellevue eatery well-loved for its homemade noodle dishes (like Takana Soup Noodle, for example) has been family-owned and operated since 1983.”

“The team says, “Our customers are a part of our family. Our food is always made from the freshest ingredients, the lowest amount of oil, and is also low in cholesterol and fat. Because we believe that we are responsible for our customers’ health, we strive for the finest quality in our foods,” the article adds.

When it comes to Shaoshan, “Shaoshan Impression” could refer to an impression or representation of Shaoshan, which is a county in the Hunan province of China. Shaoshan is considered to be notable due to being the birthplace of Mao Zedong, the founding father of the People’s Republic of China.
