Singhs Vietnamese, a laid-back eatery known for homestyle Vietnamese cooking at 2803 N St. Mary’s Street, is opening a second location — this time in Northwest San Antonio.
The new restaurant will be built from the ground up at 7331 N Loop 1604 W, near eateries such as Hills & Dales Ice House and Taqueria Aguascalientes, just across the highway from the UTSA campus.
What Now San Antonio reached out to Singhs Vietnamese’s co-owner, Eric Trevino, but he was unable to provide additional information before the time of publication.
Nevertheless, a recent construction permit application provides additional insight.
According to the permit, the restaurant will be about 1,000 square feet and offer fast-casual service, allowing customers to order at the counter and dine outdoors. Construction will be carried out by the design firm Cognition Creative LLC and is slated to begin on June 27, reaching completion by September 29, and costing an estimated $250,000.
If the concept remains consistent, patrons can expect the menu to offer a selection of banh mi sandwiches, bún, also known as noodle bowls, and a variety of goi — traditional Vietnamese salads made with shaved red and green cabbage, carrots, mixed herbs, pickled onions, and fish sauce, topped aioli, toasted peanuts, and lime.
Singhs Vietnamese in Northwest San Antonio is slated to open later this year. In the meantime, follow the eatery on Facebook and Instagram for updates.
