According to a recently submitted permit application, New Hope Coffee Shop at 317 W. Chihuahua Street — near establishments such as Buffalo Joes, Fresh Donuts, and Sammy’s Mexican — in La Vernia is planning to undergo renovations.

What Now San Antonio reached out to Pastor Bobby Nixon to inquire about the updates but he could not provide additional information before publication.

Nevertheless, the filing describes the project as the “remodel of a 1970s vintage ranch house into a new coffee shop” and reveals that the 1,688-square-foot location boasts a 975-square-foot covered porch.

Renovations are scheduled to begin on September 30 and finish on March 28, 2025. For an estimated $475,000, Austin-based firm Duke Garwood Architect will carry out the project.
