J. Alexander’s appears to be very interested in the greater Phoenix area, this time showing interest in a new location in Chandler at 7111 W Ray Rd.
Previously, What Now Phoenix reported that the contemporary American restaurant was recently announced as one of several proposed locations for Signature at SanTan Village, which is currently under construction. While that location is still in development, J. Alexander’s appears interested in moving into the former home Buca di Beppo on the southwest corner of Ray Road and 54th Street in west Chandler, according to recently issued building permits, which indicate that the company will demolish the restaurant that closed last year.
The opening of these two new locations marks an exciting return for J. Alexander’s, which opened its only restaurant at The Borgata in Scottsdale in 2008 before closing it in 2013—the new J. Alexander’s in Chandler will cover 7,500 square feet. It’s hard to say when either of these locations will open, but it proves the company is interested in expanding throughout the Valley. Considering it’s early in the process, the company will likely complete at least one location before the end of the year.
When the new J. Alexander’s open, customers can expect the same delicious food, drinks, and excellent service at their restaurants in 15 states. The expansive menu features a variety of options, including soups and starters, salads, burgers and sandwiches, steaks and prime ribs, and specialties like Carolina crab cakes, oven-roasted chicken, and roasted pork chops. In terms of beverages, J. Alexander’s offers a wide selection of wines, beers, and cocktails, including a range of handcrafted martinis. As the restaurant leans toward a more upscale dining experience, customers should be aware of the dress code, which prohibits “clothing too informal.” Men are encouraged to wear collared shirts and closed-toe shoes, while women are advised to avoid “provocative” outfits.
