El Zarape, one of Las Vegas’s favorite local Mexican spots, has two locations currently in operation, at 5333 S Arville St. #102 and at 2400 S Jones Blvd #4—and that’s alongside two restaurants for its sister concept, Birrieria El Zarape, located at 4555 E Charleston Blvd #111 and at 2162 N Lamb Blvd.
Now, El Zarape Enterprise, LLC has submitted licensing paperwork to Clark County for a new location. The submitted paperwork shows El Zarape Family Restaurant opening at 5715 S Pecos Road.
The El Zarape menu features a selection of tacos—with choices like the Al Pastor Taco, the Quesabirria Taco, the Chorizo Taco, and more—plus other favorites from Mexican cuisine. There are burritos, quesadillas, nachos, and breakfast burritos, along with Combo Plates like the Birria Combo Plate, the Chile Verde Combo Plate, and Fajitas Combo Plate, all of which are served with rice, beans, and salad.
That menu is likely to be a bit different at El Zarape Family Restaurant, which appears to be another sister concept. It’s opening was announced on Instagram this week.
“El Zarape Family Restaurant, COMING SPRING 2025!” says an Instagram post by El Zarape, promising a new menu and sit-down table service. “SEE YOU SOON!”
Opening in the 5715 S Pecos Road location, El Zarape would join Pecos Plaza, the retail center on the southwest corner of East Russel Road and South Pecos Road, which is home to restaurants like San Francisco Bay Restaurant, La Papaya Deli, Golden Flower Chinese Restaurant, and Smoke & Fire.
What Now reached out on Thursday to owner Angel Avalos to ask about plans for a new El Zarape opening in Pecos Plaza. Avalos was not immediately available to discuss the project.
