Georgia-style barbecue joint coming soon to the Castleberry Neighborhood.
Atlanta-based restaurant group 101 Concepts, the company behind Food 101, Cibo e Beve and Meehan’s Public House, in a press release Friday announced its newest concept, Smoke Ring, a barbecue restaurant, is slated to open September 17, 2013.
Led by husband and wife team, executive chef Jordan Wakefield and bar manager Erin Leigh Wakefield, Smoke Ring will serve up a southern-inspired food and drink menu, according to the release.
“Barbecue is a comfort food for so many people, especially southerners,” Wakefield said in the release. “I want to share my passion of barbecue and everything southern with our guests and the Castleberry Hill neighborhood.”
Signature starters include Smoke Ring Jerky, Crispy Pig Ear “Fries” (Chipotle Dusted with White BBQ Sauce) and BBQ Deviled Eggs (BBQ Seasoning, Bacon and Bourbon Marmalade, and Chive).
Featured entrées include a variety of sliders, small plates, sandwiches, soups, salads and BBQ plates. Smoke Ring will feature southern elixirs, as well as Georgia wines, beers and moonshine.
Smoke Ring will be located at 309 Nelson Street, in the Castleberry Hill Neighborhood. The restaurant’s operating hours are Sunday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 a.m.
I drove by this place this morning. The signage is gone and there is a stop work post on the window. Is it still opening?
