The Palatine-based pizza spot has received national recognition this year.

The owners of Tievoli Pizza Bar are working to open their second location at 119 W Lake Street in Bloomingdale. The Labbate family has been operating their Palatine restaurant since 2023 and is now seeking expansion. Co-owner Giovanni Labbate told What Now Chicago they are hoping to debut the spot by Jan. 1.

The family first opened their 44 W Palatine Road location in February 2023. Since then, locals from Palatine and surrounding suburbs have come to try their fresh-baked pizzas. He said due to the popularity, he has the goal to not only open in Bloomingdale, but surrounding villages as well.

Giovanni and his son, Rocco, recently won awards at the California Pizza challenge, getting first place as “fastest box folder” and “largest dough stretch.” Their pizzas range from small to large, with Detroit style 10×14 as an option as well. Giovanni said they will be specializing in thin-crust pies in Bloomingdale.

Like the Palatine restaurant, those dining can expect signature pizzas like the self-titled Tievoli, with garlic and oil sauce, bacon jam, pepperoni and mozzarella. Pastas include their baked rigatoni, creamy pesto and lasagna roll-up. Soups, salads, appetizers and desserts are also options.

Tievoli is under construction on the north side of W Lake Street, across from Wolfden Brewing Company and Rooster’s Barn & Grill. This is near the major intersection of N Bloomingdale Road. Downtown Roselle is a short drive north of the location.
