It is the beginning of the new chapter for the wine shop.
The team at Door 24 have submitted a liquor license for a new wine bar at their 2124 N Damen Avenue space. The new concept will serve both food and drinks, and is an expansion of the current shop. Right now, owner Michele Fitzpatrick does not have an opening date as it is early in the licensing process.
The Bucktown wine shop first debuted in May 2021 and has developed into a staple of the Bucktown neighborhood. Michele opened the concept with Kevin Kenny, and the two wanted to bring their passion for wine to the northwest neighborhood.
“We strive to be a friendly and approachable shop,” says the description on their website.
Options at the shop include a national and international selection of wines, as well as beers, ciders, spirits and boxed wines. In the past, the business has hosted wine tastings accompanied by food additions. The menu for the new wine bar has not yet been released.
Door 24 is on the west side of N Damen Avenue. This is now next to The Royal Grocer & Co. and is close to the W Charleston Street intersection. The storefront is near the center of Bucktown, and not far from the Western CTA Blue Line station.
What Now Chicago is awaiting further comment from Fitzpatrick on the opening. For more updates on Door 24, visit the business’s Facebook or Instagram pages.
