The fitness chain that has been operating for almost 40 years has a new location in store for the suburbs.
Crunch Fitness continues expansion in Chicagoland as a new location is under construction at 1508 Butterfield Road in Downers Grove. This is at the former Value City Furniture store in the plaza. An opening date is still to be determined, but will likely be winter 2027.
Franchise group JEM Wellness Brands manages multiple Crunch Fitness gyms, as well as European Wax Center and Massage Envy locations. Right now, there are around 10 in the Chicago area. The other newest Chicagoland location is coming to Naperville at 704 Route 59.
Locations offer group fitness classes that are cardio-based, a full gym with weights and personal trainers. Cardio machines include traditional treadmills and ellipticals. The company encourages all kinds of workout intensities and styles.
Recently, the team has been hosting a pre-sale center that offers discounts for new members, giveaways and raffles. From pictures, signage is not yet up at the location.
The site is at the intersection of Downers Drive, sharing the building with a Michael’s and Marshall’s & HomeGoods. This is right off of Interstate 355, where Interstate 88 intersects with it. Downtown Downers Grove is a 10-minute drive south of the location.
