An entrepreneur and chef is debuting a new spot with customizable bowls.

The owner of ChefMan Mediterranean Bowls is working on getting his new concept open at 353 S Kennedy Drive. Hamza Malhees is an experienced restaurateur who is involved in Kankakee County’s restaurant scene. Malhees told What Now Chicago he does not yet have an opening date.

“Bold Mediterranean flavors, fresh ingredients, and signature sauces,” says the description on their Facebook page.

Malhees is not releasing a menu yet, but those dining in can expect shawarma, and bowls with choice of proteins, toppings and sauces. This is similar to chains like CAVA and Taziki’s. From pictures, hummus and sides like fries may also be served.

ChefMan is coming to the corner of Blatt Boulevard, next to Winnie’s cafe. This is also across the street from Family House Restaurant. The town is just north of downtown Kankakee, which is south of Chicagoland and off interstate 57.

As it gets closer to the opening date, Malhees will provide more information on the concept and menu items.
