A new day may be dawning for an old Solebury diner. Cousins and hospitality veterans Frank Picone and Anthony Adragna are planning to open a new Italian concept in the former home of the New Hope Star Diner later this year, reports local media outlet phillyburbs.com.

Located at 6522 US-202, the building will require relatively extensive renovations. The diner shut down in November of 2023, and has been awaiting its next incarnation ever since. However, the space is making positive progress towards starting a new life; the local Township has voted in favor of transferring a liquor license from a recently shuttered T.G.I. Fridays to the building.

Though considerable work remains necessary to make the restaurant space viable, Picone and Andragna are optimistic for a July opening, however Picone states that they’re maintaining a realistic mindset. He says: “There’s a lot to do in the building to get it up to code. We’re keeping our fingers crossed on that.”

Picone and Andragna are an ideal duo to usher the restaurant into a new era. While they have not announced a name for the upcoming concept, they have established that it will be an Italian restaurant, complete with a bar and full-service.

The pair know a thing or two about feeding hungry customers; Picone spent time working in V&S Pizzeria and Andragna previously owned Cafe Antonio.
