This week, Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii announced that it had signed a franchise deal to open three units in Henderson. Local entrepreneur and elementary school physical education teacher Grant Vermillion is behind the three locations, the first of which is expected to open this year.

“We chose to franchise with Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii because their brand perfectly aligns with our commitment to making a positive difference in the community,” Vermillion said in a press release. “Their values and sense of camaraderie resonate deeply with my work at Nevada Rush Soccer Club, and we saw a great opportunity to collaborate. There’s also a strong demand for flavorful coffee in our area, and our family is excited to be part of bringing more Bad Ass Coffee locations to Las Vegas.”

The Bad Ass Coffee menu features a wide variety of coffee and other beverages, like the brand’s Bad Ass Lattes, which include the Bad Ass Mocha, the Caramel Wave, and the Beach Bliss Latte, all served either hot or iced. On the food side are selections of breakfast and lunch sandwiches and baked goods.

Founded in Hawaii in 1989, Bad Ass Coffee has been expanding in the mainland states with big growth plans that have taken it past 35 total locations, including one already open on Hawaii’s ninth island.

“The growth we’re seeing in Nevada is incredibly exciting, and continuing to expand into the Las Vegas area is a key milestone for the brand,” Scott Snyder, CEO of Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii, said in the press release. “Las Vegas offers great potential for us, and we’re confident that Grant and his family will make a meaningful impact on the Henderson community as they continue to expand their partnership with us. Their passion for both the brand and their community truly embodies the kind of franchisee we love to work with.”

What Now reached out to Grant Vermillion on Wednesday to ask about possible sites for the upcoming locations. Vermillion was not immediately available for comment.
