Last summer, What Now Memphis reported that a local Mexican restaurant chain would be expanding to Arlington. Now, more details about the eatery have emerged.

Margaritas Mexican—sometimes referred to as Las Margaritas or Margaritas Mexican Grill & Bar—is set to open at 5429 Airline Rd, according to recently filed city permits. Although owner Jose Flores could not be reached for comment, the permits indicate that the standalone space will span approximately 5,750 square feet, with an estimated construction cost of $2.1 million.

Known for its classic Mexican fare, Margaritas offers an array of tacos, enchiladas, burritos, and seafood dishes—alongside its signature margaritas. The chain boasts more than a dozen locations across Greater Memphis, including sites in Downtown Memphis, Collierville, Cordova, Covington, West Memphis, and Lakeland.

Flores also owns Sake vs. Tequila, a Japanese-Mexican fusion restaurant with locations in Whitehaven, Cordova, and Millington, and another that could be coming soon to Covington.

An official opening date for the Arlington Margaritas outpost has not yet been announced.
