An elevated comfort food spot from Texas is opening soon at Perimeter Mall.

Kitchen + Kocktails comes from entrepreneur and attorney Kevin Kelley. He was inspired to launch the concept after living abroad in France, where he missed the food that reminded him of home.

That experience sparked the idea to create a beautifully designed space serving elevated comfort food. “Kitchen + Kocktails by Kevin Kelley is more than just a restaurant, it is a home and a way of living your best life,” according to the website.

Kitchen + Kocktails first opened in Dallas in the historic Hart Building in May 2020 before expanding with locations in Chicago, Washington, D.C., and, most recently, Charlotte.

The restaurant serves soul food and comfort food with a twist. The menu includes fried chicken, catfish, shrimp and grits, lobster tail, pork chops and more, along with southern sides like grits, cornbread, fried okra, candied yams and collard greens. Diners can also enjoy brunch items like waffles and omelettes.

The 6,357-square-foot location at Perimeter Mall will have seating for 175 people, with a full-service bar and a private dining area called the Asset Lounge. The space was formerly occupied by Cinco Mexican Cantina.
