Rreal Tacos has acquired Cheeky Taqueria, at 410 Peachtree Pkwy, in Cumming, CEO Damian Otero Reggiori tells What Now Atlanta.
“We will continue to operate as Cheeky and then transition to Rreal Tacos without missing a beat,” Reggiori wrote in an email Wednesday. “We won’t close at all — too many people depend on their jobs here. We will train their current team with a few of our managers.”
The transition from Cheeky to Rreal Tacos could be quick with a debut likely in July, 2023, according to Reggiori.
Steve Josovitz of The Shumacher Group, a restaurant brokerage and consulting firm, facilitated the transaction. The terms of the deal, including the sum involved in the acquisition, have not been disclosed to the public.
Cheeky Taqueria is situated in The Collection at Forsyth. It will become the fifth Rreal Tacos outpost — a “great location and market to bring Rreal Tacos out of the City,” Reggiori said.
Rreal Tacos, founded with a Midtown restaurant under the direction of Adrian Villarreal in 2015 (the taqueria’s name is a riff on “Villarreal”), was acquired in 2021 by Reggiori and Miguel Hernandez. The new group has big expansion plans for the restaurant brand including its first non-Georgia location which is slated for Nashville.
Rreal Tacos bills itself as a “marriage of the authentic flavors of Mexican street food along with the experience of a modern, high-energy taqueria.”
ANOTHER taco shop. They are like red lights, one on every intersection.
