Nations Cafe Opening New Location in Norcross

The restaurant serves up a taste of Africa with soups, stews, fish, curry dishes and vegetarian options.

A Sandy Springs spot known for African cuisine is expanding to Norcross.

Nations Cafe has signed a three-year lease at the Oaktree Plaza Shopping Center, northeast of Atlanta. The space is 3,710 square feet.

The restaurant serves delicacies from Nigeria and other African countries including soups, stews, fish, curry dishes and vegetarian options.

Owner and chef Okon James told What Now Atlanta they are preparing now to get situated in the space before opening to the public.

He has garnered culinary experience at Atlanta institutions for decades, including as executive sous chef at Trader Vic’s. In addition to owning Nations Cafe, James is also the executive chef and director of operations for Destiny Food Services and Banquet Catering.

Nations Cafe can currently be found in Sandy Springs, bringing a taste of Africa to the corner of Northridge and Roswell roads.
