The pub, first listed for sale in 2011, quietly closed ‘for renovations’ this week.

Something’s up at The Corner Tavern in West Midtown.

Signage at the space indicates the pub closed its doors this week for “renovations.”

“Sorry guys, we are closed for renovations,” according to several sheets of paper adhered to the pub’s entrances.

But, management at Apex Apartments, the building that houses The Corner Tavern, is telling a different story.

The restaurant, at 1133 Huff Road NW, has been sold to an undisclosed party and won’t be reopening, Apex management told What Now Atlanta (WNA) on a visit to the space Wednesday.

The Corner Tavern West Midtown was first put up for sale through The Shumacher Group in 2011 (the listing has since been removed).

The Corner Tavern’s phone has been disconnected and there’s an “error establishing a database connection” on the pub’s website.

WNA has sought comment from The Corner Tavern, The Shumacher Group, and the hottest lead we have right now for what might replace the pub. Our calls, emails, and in-person visits are going unanswered.

The Corner Tavern has locations in East Point, Little 5 Points, and Edgewood Old Fourth Ward.
