A new Chick-fil-A restaurant is serving Auburn Hills at its newest location which opened on Thursday, April 17, creating approximately 130 jobs. Chick-fil-A, Inc. selected Greg Russell to be the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Auburn Hills.

Located at 2111 N Squirrel Rd., the new restaurant will serve guests Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., offering dine-in, drive-thru and carry-out.

“Each step of my journey, from coaching basketball to serving in Chick-fil-A restaurants, has prepared me for becoming a local Owner-Operator, and I am so grateful for the opportunity. My goal is to cultivate a place where love is at the center of everything we do – serving our Guests with care, supporting our Team Members and giving back to the community. At Chick-fil-A Auburn Hills, I am committed to ensuring that both our Team Members and Guests always feel at home. It’s not just about serving food; it’s about serving people with heart and making every visit a remarkable experience,” said Russell in a statement.

  • A Detroit native, Russell’s path to becoming the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Auburn Hills reflects his strong community ties, passion for service, and desire to honor his late mother’s legacy who lived in Lake Orion for nearly two decades.
  • While working at a technology company, he coached youth basketball and first encountered Chick-fil-A’s hospitality after bringing his team to a Chick-fil-A restaurant, where he resonated with the Team Members’ camaraderie and shared spirit of teamwork. Inspired by the experience, he began working at a Chick-fil-A restaurant in Atlanta before returning to Michigan to support restaurants in Southfield and Chesterfield Township, which strengthened his leadership and business skills. Today, he is proud to serve the Auburn Hills community alongside his wife Stasi and their children, Greg Jr., Keith, and Noah.

Russell is committed to giving back to the Auburn Hills community by:

  • Participating in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program, which redirects surplus food to local nonprofits and has helped to create over 35 million meals to date.
  • Celebrating the opening with a $25,000 donation from Chick-fil-A, Inc. to Feeding America to support local hunger relief in the area. The funds will be distributed between Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan and Forgotten Harvest, two partners of Feeding America dedicated to addressing food insecurity.
