The owners behind the Prohibition-inspired restaurant Grey Ghost are opening up a fast-casual location in Ferndale dubbed Little Ghost.
The new 1,000-square-foot space is located at 22305 Woodward Avenue, and chef and co-owner Joe Giacomino told What Now Detroit they hope to open in early or summer. Little Ghost will serve a smaller version of Grey Ghost’s menu with a focus on the restaurant’s “beloved” burger, chicken sandwich, and signature sides, according to a statement.
The new space will focus largely on take-out customers, though catering and local delivery will be offered. Construction and permitting are currently underway on the new space, which will also offer a walk-up window as an option for ordering.
Giacomino is part of Four Man Ladder Hospitality, a restaurant management company, which owns Grey Ghost as well as Second Best and Basan. John Vermiglio, Will Lee and Michael Gray are also partners.
Giacomino told What Now Detroit they hope this will be the first of additional locations, and that the reasoning behind Little Ghost is to offer Grey Ghost food at a more approachable price point.
“It’s our first foray into the fast casual world,” Giacomino said. “We hope to be able to expand this whole blueprint and build on the Little Ghost brand to eventually become its own brand.”
