According to recent public records, a local sushi establishment will soon debut its second location.

Umiya Sushi Restaurant, unrelated to the identically named restaurant in Cedar Park, will soon begin building up its debut location at 13609 North IH-35 in Austin.

Records examined by What Now Austin state that the build-out will consist of a “Remodel of women and men’s restroom, install new equipment, remodel bar for ADA accessibility (3,500 square footage remodel).”

Most of the work, it seems, may already be done as the restaurant will be occupying the former space of Baby Acapulco Tex-Mex Restaurant. This is further reflected in the relatively small price tag of $250,000 for the finish out, set to reach completion in August.

What Now briefly reached ownership, but they had very little information to add given the project’s early stage.
