Salt and Straw, a major ice cream chain in the Pacific Northwest, is eying two moves to Seattle.
It was recently reported by the King5 news station that the ice cream shop was looking at a new location at 102 Pike Street across from Pike Place Market, the famous farmer’s market in the city. This location used to be a Starbucks in the area. Now, the permit requests were withdrawn as it is “not ready yet for submittal.” As of now, there are no further details.
Salt and Straw also announced it is planning on opening a new ice cream shop at 2201 Queen Anne Avenue N. The listed business for this location, Queen Anne Laundry Room, is temporarily closed as of now. There are currently locations in Ballard and Capitol Hill.
Salt and Straw has 42 ice cream shops in Oregon, California, Washington, Florida and Arizona. It is known for its unique pairing of flavors, such as pear and blue cheese and salted, melted chocolate chip cookie dough.
