A popular gluten-free and vegan bakery in Rancho Cordova is growing.
The Caring Kitchen is opening a second, larger location in the former Paisley Cafe space at 9372 Madison Ave, Suite 1 in Orangevale, owner Delaney Polidori announced on Facebook. In addition to remaining completely gluten-free and vegan, the new facility will avoid the top nine allergens: milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, soy, wheat, fish, shellfish, and sesame.
“I’m looking forward to being fully moved in there and able to recipe test new things,” shared Polidori. “The list is huge. It’s gonna take some time, especially since I’m baking for our Rancho location at the same time. Y’all know that gluten free AND vegan recipes take a while to tackle… so bear with me.”
The Caring Kitchen’s menu rotates weekly and features a sweet spread of cookies, cookie sandwiches, cupcakes, cake pops, brownies, sourdough bread, and puff pastries—all gluten-free, vegan, and scratch-made.
While the new space won’t initially operate as a full-service café, Polidori says it’s a possibility down the road. In the meantime, thanks to a fryer, the bakery will serve up fried treats like yeast-risen doughnuts, funnel cakes, beignets, apple fritters, and cannolis.
And even more tempting additions are in the works: Polidori plans to introduce focaccia and French bread occasionally, cinnamon rolls more regularly (plus a future take-and-bake version), and custom cakes once she’s fully settled into the new kitchen.
The sign is now up, and the Orangevale bakery is slated to open in mid-June 2025.
