Downtown Superior will soon welcome a new restaurant with the impending arrival of bb.q Chicken, a fast-growing Korean fried chicken franchise, to 2345 Main St, Suite 1110. Posts from the city announce that a meeting will be held next week regarding a proposal for the project.
Local residents Cynthia Pham and Tim Roman will be the franchisees for this location, a business plan submitted to the city relays. Pham has a background in mortgage lending, and Roman is a serial entrepreneur, real estate investor, and technical engineer. They signed a 10-year lease agreement for the 1,948-square-foot space.
Leasing records show the unit is an end-cap space within Building 11 at the Origin mixed-use development. The total estimated build-out will cost $718,224, including soundproofing, HVAC installation, and commercial kitchen equipment.
They are investing more than $550,000 into the project, and are requesting a $75,000 grant and a $25,000 sales tax rebate through the Town’s Economic Development Program. Documents show that officials will recommend approving a $50,000 grant and a $50,000 performance-based sales tax rebate.
The couple submitted a timeline for the Superior bb.q Chicken, showing they intend to submit permits and apply for a liquor license this month. Construction, equipment purchasing, and marketing efforts will start in the summer, and they can begin training in the fall and soft open by the end of the year.
