Woodbridge Pub owners Yianni Linardakis and Ibrahim Chahrour are launching a new restaurant just steps away from their original spot, serving a fusion of Greek and Lebanese street food in Woodbridge, Detroit.
Located at 1520 Merrick Street, across from the pub and Wayne State University, the 1,300-square-foot space is designed to appeal to the neighborhood’s nightlife crowd. It also sits beside a grassy lot the duo already uses for outdoor events tied to Woodbridge Pub.
Linardakis told Bridge Detroit the concept pays tribute to both owners’ grandmothers and their shared heritage. The new eatery will highlight the similarities between Greek and Lebanese cuisine—both rich in spices and herbs—while showcasing their unique ingredients.
The name, Toum and Tzatziki, reflects that blend: “Toum” is a traditional Lebanese garlic sauce, while “Tzatziki” is a Greek yogurt-based staple.
The menu will feature favorites like lamb gyros, shawarma, beef kebabs and fresh salads.
While the food is primarily designed for takeout, the space will include five to six tables for those who wish to dine in. Guests will also be able to grab drinks from Woodbridge Pub and enjoy them alongside their meals outdoors, according to the article.
Toum and Tzatziki is expected to open the first week of June.
