Just after opening its doors in South Park earlier this month, Fontana di Vino already has plans to open up a second location. The Italian restaurant will take over the space previously home to the Davidson Ice House at 416 S Main Street with plans to open in late 2025, according to the Charlotte Observer.
Robert Maynard, the founder and CEO of breakfast-lunch spot Famous Toastery, and chef Scott Leibfried are behind the concept. Leibfried is known for his work on food competition programs like Hell’s Kitchen and the Food Network Challenge.
The menu for Fontana di Vino includes pasta dishes such as spaghetti pomodoro, butternut squash ravioli and rigatoni sugo; prime steaks such as filet mignon and ribeye; a mozzarella bar; and other dishes like crispy calamari, mussels and traditional meatballs.
Currently, the South Park location is open for dinner, but it will have lunch and Sunday supper options coming soon. The website states that the concept blends “the old, the bold and the new.” It is designed to be vibrant and to build community around an Italian-inspired menu.
“Experience the harmony of tradition and creativity, where Italian culinary heritage meets fresh, modern inspiration and passion,” the Fontana di Vino website states.
