According to a recently submitted permit application, the La La Land Foundation plans to introduce a second La La Land Cafe location in San Antonio.
Coming to 15900 La Cantera Parkway, the coffee shop will land near establishments such as Marlin Bar, Palenque Grill, and Yard House.
The finish-out of the 2,006-square-foot space is scheduled to begin on July 1 and end on October 29 and will cost an estimated $300,000 to complete.
For readers who are unfamiliar with the La La Land Foundation, the non-profit offers a brief introduction on its website: “In 2017, a vision sparked the creation of what was initially known as the We Are One Project (WAO), now proudly called the La La Land Foundation. The mission was simple but profound: to provide valuable support and opportunities for fostering youth and individuals in need.”
“In 2019, this vision took a tangible form with the opening of the first La La Land Kind Cafe. Embracing a ‘teach a person to fish’ philosophy, our founder launched the cafe not just as a place to get a meal, but as a platform for change. The cafe offered paid internships specifically designed to help youth transition from foster care into adulthood,” it continues.
What Now San Antonio reached out to Maya Villanueva, the Development Coordinator at La La Land Cafe, to inquire about her plans for the spot, but she could not provide additional information before publication.
