Yunomi Handroll, a contemporary sushi bar that offers a modern twist on traditional Japanese hand rolls, is getting ready to open a new location in Atwater Village at 3250 Glendale Blvd #2.
The company’s fourth location is set to open in the former Wells Fargo branch, according to a recent liquor license application. Yunomi Handroll in Los Angeles offers a focused menu centered on hand rolls made with fresh seafood and inventive ingredients. Popular items include the yunomi special handroll with spicy albacore, shrimp tempura, and truffle soy, as well as spicy tuna tempura, crispy rice albacore, and soft shell crab handroll. The restaurant also serves appetizers, such as rock shrimp tempura and Brussels sprouts, accompanied by sweet soy sauce. All locations feature bar seating and an open kitchen, offering an interactive dining experience in a minimalist yet energetic setting.
This will be an excellent location for a new Yunomi Handroll, as it will be part of a new retail project called The Local in Atwater Village, offering high visibility, steady foot traffic, and a prime spot on a busy, signalized corner. The building provides flexible space options, an outdoor patio seating area on two sides, and 41 on-site parking spaces, with an additional 40 spaces available in a nearby public lot, according to details from LoopNet. It’s being built out with restaurant-friendly features like a central grease interceptor and separate utility hookups for each unit. Philz Coffee and Nova’s Grill are currently set to be a part of this new development.
The surrounding area is an excellent fit for Yunomi’s customer base. With a walk score of 92, nearby local amenities such as The Attic, Black Elephant Coffee, Goodies, Proof Bakery, and Wanderlust Creamery are walkable to the property. It’s located right on Glendale Boulevard, in the middle of Atwater’s restaurant row, just steps from the popular weekly farmers market. The street sees over 44,000 cars a day and is becoming a go-to spot for dining and shopping. The available space gives Yunomi room to grow, whether it’s a small handroll bar or a complete dining experience. With easy freeway access and a strong local following, The Local is a smart move for their next location.
