According to MySA, Austin-based concept Terry Black’s BBQ plans to expand its footprint in the Alamo City.
“With plans for Houston and San Antonio in the works, it won’t be long before Terry Black’s has an outpost in almost every major Texas city,” the Journal reports.
What Now San Antonio reached out to Mike Black, a co-owner of the business, to inquire about the company’s plans, but he could not provide additional information before publication.
Nevertheless, public records reveal that ground-up construction of the 9,768-square-foot restaurant — coming to 2102 Broadway — began on May 30 and is slated to finish in May 2026. Costing an estimated $6,000,000, the project will be managed by Austin-based firm Chioco Design.
For readers who are unfamiliar with Terry Black’s BBQ, the concept was founded in 1932 in Austin. Today, the family-run business operates five outposts across Austin, Dallas, Lockhart, Waco, and Fort Worth.
On the menu, San Antonio locals can expect to find meats such as sliced brisket, pork ribs, and chopped beef, as well as sides including pinto beans, green beans, and cream corn. Additionally, the dessert menu spans from pecan pie to peach cobbler and banana pudding.
An opening date has not been announced yet. Stay tuned for updates.
